Ah, Raffi. Do your songs ever get old? Nope, didn’t think so. I sang that song to Sweet Pea all day Friday and Saturday morning because we actually did go to the zoo! The petting zoo, that is. Sweet Pea has been sick this week, and none of us have slept very well with the ongoing teething, so we were excited when our next door neighbors invited us to go to a local petting zoo with them yesterday. The kids loved it!
Sweet Pea especially liked the baby goats (or kids, for those of you who paid attention in elementary school science). One of the farm volunteers brought the one-week-old goats over for our kids to pet. Sweet Pea was waving “hi” to the goats and petting their hooves. She was a little unsure at first, but once she figured out the goats weren’t going anywhere she got excited.
It’s hard for me to believe that in two weeks, Sweet Pea will be one year old. The year has flown by in the blink of an eye. It seems like yesterday that my water broke and we were rushing to the hospital five weeks early, only to stay there for another three weeks. Sweet Pea is our little miracle, and we’re so blessed to have her in our lives. Tom and I say “she’s so cute!” about fifty times a day. It never gets old. We’ve been having issues with teething and colds (again) and not sleeping the last week, so we’ve been waking up to a lot of this:
But I wouldn’t change anything for a second.
In closing, I’ll end with Sweet Pea’s interpretation of some kids she saw at the mall:
She cracks me up.
